SYDNEY’S NEWEST TRENDY CAFE - WORTH THE HYPE? 👇
As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by the cool retro Willy Wonka vibes of this place, and they even have a dessert trolley that they wheel directly to your table.
You can see how they process the coffee beans from start to finish on a free behind the scenes tour (if you ask). I love how the beans are transported through the pipes from one end to the other.
Food wise, we had the egg soldiers $27 and their famous hotcakes for $19.
While the egg soldiers in combination with the bread and salmon was flavourful and textured, I was disappointed at the fact that the eggs were more hard boiled than soft.
The hotcakes were sweet with a nice crunch from the bacon.
For drinks I had the pour over coffee and my friend @tikandhini had the matcha latte.
When the dessert trolley came through, we ended up with the pear tart which was a great way to finish off our brunch. Oh & don’t let the tart slip off the plate!
By the time we left, I heard the wait time was around 2 hours, so definitely get there early well before 10am. Overall we spent $80 between the 2 of us.
VERDICT: The aesthetics and vibe will certainly impress. Food wise it’s consistent with the other Grounds locations and a bit on the pricier side. I’d go during off peak times or when the hype settles a bit, otherwise you’ll be in for a long wait.
